Play Rules
Moorehead Park League- 2008
- A pitch that hits the wood is a strike
- 5 balls equal a walk
- 3 strikes equal a Strike Out
- Foul tipped 3rd strike that hits the strike zone is considerd a caught 3rd strike
- 3 outs per inning
- 7 innings per game
- Minimum 3 players per team
- Maximum 5 players per team
- Maximum 4 players in the field at one time
- Maximum of one base advance on an overthrow (batter advances at his own risk)
- A batted ball must travel past and stay past the 20 foot foul line
- MLB rules apply for all other fair and foul balls
- If a ball hits the trees down the LF line and lands in fair territory, it is ruled a fair ball and is in play
- If a ball hits the trees down the LF line and is caught, it is ruled an out
- A batted ball that hits the trees over the LF fence is an automatic homerun
- No leading
- No Stealing
- A pitcher can pitch a maximum of 14 outs per 7 inning game ( 4 2/3 innings)
- Once a pitcher leaves the game, the pitcher can not re-enter until the entire opposing lineup has batted
- A ball that hits the fence in the air is ruled a double.
- A ball that hits the top of the fence and continues over the fence is declared a homerun
- Ties in the field go in favor of the FIELDER
- On a full count with 2 outs all runners can leave when the pitcher releases the ball
